"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment"

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

I am a senior at Auburn University planning to graduate in May 2019. My major is Poultry Production with a minor in Animal Sciences. During my junior year in high school, I joined Future Farmers of America (FFA). Because I was so involved my senior year, I became the Reporter of my chapter. Joining FFA made me realize I wanted a career in Agriculture. I have always had a passion for animals, but joining FFA made me want to learn more about Agriculture with an emphasis on poultry production. In 2015, the year I graduated, I applied to multiple colleges throughout the state. My heart was set on Auburn University from the first time I attended a football game my 7th grade year, although God had different plans for me. I was confused and devastated because I was not accepted into Auburn University at first. After weeks went by, I finally decided to go to Southern Union where I got offered the Presidential scholarship. At first, I was going to only attend for one semester and then transfer, but I ended up attending for 4 - (Fall, Spring, Summer, Fall). During Fall 2016, I commuted between schools - I took Intro to Poultry Science at Auburn and 12 hours at Southern Union. In the Spring of 2017, I transferred to Auburn full time with 55 accredited hours. I believe dedication and hard work is important in becoming successful.
